Perineal ice and pad?

Does anyone know how to use ice packs postpartum and also use a pad for bleeding/discharge? There are so many products for perineal ice packs and I’m just like how do you use that with your pad...

Take a bunch of pads and open them, squirt some aloe Vera gel and witch hazel on them and wrap them back up. Put them in your freezer and use them once you get home from having baby. When your in he hospital you won’t care for an ice pack and a pad just won’t cut it. You’ll be in a diaper. But a few days after both you’ll have these pads ready!!

Agree with the above — make “padsicles” with aloe and witch hazel and DEFINITELY stock up on Depends. It’s fun for you and baby to bond over the shared experience of being in diapers together anyway. 😉 But, speaking from experience unfortunately, change your diaper frequently because adults can, apparently, get diaper rash as well. 😂

I had a baby 9 months ago and am pregnant again. I LIVED in depends for the first 2 weeks. I had preeclampsia and ended up being hospitalized for the week leading up to our induction so I never got to make the padsicle things. But the minute we got home I sent my husband to the store for a pack of depends, tucks rounds, and dermaplast spray. I got those three things in the hospital, and it was all I really needed. I occasionally sat on an ice pack that I put in a plastic ziplock. But the depends, rounds, and spray, worked wonders for my 2nd degree tear. OH AND A PERI BOTTLE. GET A PERI BOTTLE AND WATER WIPES FOR YOURSELF.

When I was In the hospital with my 1st they gave me some but I had to "break" what was inside to make it cold, I put that on top of my pad it was super uncomfortable but it felt soooo relieving at the same time! I also didnt bleed for very long but everybody is different. I heard you can just do witch hazel in the pads at home and freeze them I imagine adding aloe makes a difference!! I guess it's all a matter of preference. I may consider doing it this time around.

I already had a baby and don't know how. They just handed them to me at the hospital and let me. Go. They were never cold for me.
