Ultrasound measurements?

I thought I was 8 weeks and a couple of days pregnant, but when we went to get our ultrasound, I was told I was seven weeks exactly. The fetus measured 9.4 mm with a strong heartbeat. Is this correct? It seems so odd to me because we had a positive ovulation test on the 26th of October, but the new due date would put my conception a week later than that?

Baby could have implanted late. My son was supposed to be 6+5 for our first ultrasound, but measured 5+5. Went back a week later and he grew to 6+5 so they just moved my due date

Dates can be a little out a few things to note. Ovulation tests indicate a surg in LH, this is what drives ovulation. Actual ovulation occurs in the days and hours following this rise. This could be up to 48 hours later. 
Then implantation occurs around 6 days after. 
Also scanning at that early stage as far as I’m aware can be plus or minus five days... dating can change. The nhs do a dating scan at 12-14 weeks as that’s the best time to get a more accurate date.
If a heart beat is present this is a viable pregnancy don’t worry about the rest at this stage :)
