RH Negative?

Question

Any other mamas RH Negative? If you don’t know what this is it means your blood is not exposed to a certain protein, therefore you need to get an injection in case your baby is RH positive. If your bloodstreams mix it could harm the baby... I was just curious if anyone else on here is Rh negative and if it effected their pregnancies.

I am. Basically you can carry 1 pregnancy with out harm. But if you don’t get the the shot 2nd time round your body could attack the baby seeing it as a foreign object and fight it off into a loss. I have 9 healthy full term babies. Some I’ve needed shots after others. I get shot if I spot at all during a pregnancy the first tri also always at  27 week mark and depends on the babies blood if i get one 24 hrs after birth. It’s not a big deal it’s just a injection that’s needed during pregnancy.

The baby’s blood doesn’t mix with the mom’s blood until delivery usually, so it should not affect the first pregnancy at all. If you have an Rh+ baby and do not get the rhogam shot then it can affect subsequent pregnancies where the baby is Rh+

Me but they said don’t worry about it and I’ll get the shot at my 28 week appointment the 3rd. It’s only deemed serious during delivery

I forgot a comma.  1st preg will be safe but if the bloods mix mother and baby and baby Is pos and you didn’t get the shot any other preg after that are basically done for.

It’s not shown to cause miscarriage, they will give you the shot at 28 weeks, after birth and after any miscarriage. This is due to a risk of the babies blood entering your blood stream at these points. your body could see it as a virus and create an anti body to fight it. This would then affect any future pregnancies as one your body creates this it cannot be undone.

I’m RH negative. I did have several chemical pregnancies but I am now 31 +3 with no problems so far. I had my rhogam shot at 28 weeks.

I am and it hasn't affect any of my pregnancies.  I received rhogam at 28 weeks with 3 pregnancies and 1 when I found out I was miscarrying.

I am. I am not sure if it’s effected pregnancies. I’m 10 weeks now with my 2nd but I have had 3 miscarriages.

I am O- and my very first pregnancy did not make it past 4 weeks, other than that I just have to be more careful about bleeding. I have given birth to two healthy babies otherwise
