How do I pick what to get my boyfriend?

Question

He has hinted that he is getting me a Mac book for Christmas. 
He makes about $10k a month. 
I make about $2k. 
I can’t get him $1k thing but I can spend a couple hundred. 
I just don’t know what. He needs new hockey skates, but I don’t know what brand he likes. He likes cigars, maybe I could do something with that? He wanted a bar globe but I don’t want to get it and him not like whatever style I picked. He has mentioned he wants to go duck hunting but I don’t know if he has his license and he doesn’t have a gun (he went with friends but not on a tour). He likes scotch, maybe a nice glass/ decanter with a box of nice cigars? Or do I chance the skates? I don’t know what to do y’all. Help!

I would go with a ‘man package’
Nice bottle of scotch, maybe Dewers or Balvenie (12+ years) then some cigars, maybe a cigar blade or cigar box, or maybe another route- does he have a small cigar humidifier? I think you could pick one of those up for a couple hundred bucks and do a nice package of cigars!

Could you ask someone he plays hockey with about the skates? Maybe they can point you in the right direction on which ones to get.

You could buy him a humidor for his cigars, some cigars, socks, underwear, shirts, candy he likes, stickers. I always bought my man a bunch of reasonably priced stuff so I could get him a huge Christmas and make it feel like he got a lot of stuff when in reality I didn’t spend too much!

I always find really cool gifts on uncommongoods.com cause sometimes I’m seriously stumped on stuff. The guy I’m seeing really loves sports but idk anything about sports, and on there I came across this cool personalized book about his favorite baseball team so I just got that for his bday and he LOVED it. It has a lot of neat stuff on there involving sports, hunting, booze, etc.

My husband roller blades but I couldn't remember the brand he liked so I went on FB marketplace and found just a random pair and asked him (he was looking for project skates) and he told me all about the shitty brand vs the brand he likes/was looking for. So I kinda tricked the info outta him that way. 
Cigars, you could always see what the shop recommends or maybe a gift card to there. 
Personally if all else fails booze would be the safe bet in my house
