My turn to share
I loved reading everyones birth stories while I was pregnant, they kept me going. So now its my turn, taken me a few days but here we go. My beautiful girl had been measuring big through most of my pregnancy and was born on 13th dec at 37+6.
Had been having contractions all week, but nothing consistent or truly painful. I fept huge and so uncomfortable, couldn't imagine going full term. Wednesday night the contractions started coming 10mins apart but had to think about breathing through them. Left our 2yr old for a planned sleepover with nanny for the night, I had jokingly commented that it would be ideal if it all happened that night.
Got home around 9pm after dinner at mil, hubby went to play computer games and I tried to get some sleep. No chance. 3.30am we packed up to head to the hospital, arrived at 4.05, contractions 5 mins apart, had all the normals obs done, got examined and was 8cm! (Same as I was with my first when I arrived at hospital).
Midwife went to start filling up the pool as I'd planned a water birth. She had been gone 2 mins and I was shouting at hubby to press the call button as I could feel something there.
She came back in and told me to get on the bed, I was shouting at her saying I couldn't and couldn't get my pants off 😂 somehow managed it, three pushes her head was out and another couple and she was here. Born at 4.53am weighing in at a whopping 9lb8oz. No gas and air or waterbirth as planned but wouldn't change it for the world.
