Am I being punished?

About 16 months TTC and nothing. Was hoping I was pregnant this month but instead I'm getting my period for Christmas. All I ever see is it's in "God's" hands and timing. Well, I don't believe in God. Maybe I should, seems like "He" doesn't have a plan for a baby for those who dont believe.
About to give up.

I believe in God and me and my husband have been trying for over 3 years! My sister who doesn’t believe is pregnant with her 5th child and she’s 22. 
I can say many who are filled with a strong presence of Love often wait. But dont give up because I haven’t. I’ve been depressed but only God gives me hope. Without Him I would have 🤯 along time ago. We can’t give up 😪😢❤️
