I’m okay with people visiting the hospital, but I’m really anxious for my partner side of the family being in the same room with my family. I’m mostly nervous about his mom. She’s a drunk and I made it clear to him I don’t want her up there if she’s intoxicated, but the problem is, he works the graveyard shift and is not always home to monitor her. When she’s not drunk, she’s “okay”, but curses a lot and still stumbles or needs someone to walk with her. I’m not letting her hold the baby, but her presence makes me anxious, but this is the only time everyone will be able to see the baby as my partner and I will probably be moving into our new apartment. Another reason I’m nervous is because her sister is also coming. I get along really well with her, but when they’re together they get really loud and more cursing. My family on the other hand is more conservative and they have never met. The simple reasoning, everyone in his family is always drunk, or high or in some type of drama. *A little story* his cousin was in the hospital for a week ( she had a c section) and so much drama happened. Fights, family members arguing in the delivery room. It was just a big mess and very embarrassing. I visited for 5 minutes to show my support and left.
