newborn and dog-- bark collar??

we have a baby coming very soon and im very anxious about how one of my dogs will behave especially with the baby. she's some type of jack russell mix and she barks and does this horrible howl that gives me alot of anxiety. no matter what me and my partner do, we cant prevent her from barking and its to the point where we cant have company over because she barks as if someone is cutting her head off. we've talked about getting a bark collar.. i looked on amazon and there is one that has a beep, vibrate and shock option and i just want to be able to snap my dog out of her barking and howls and gain control of my life again.

Different breed (dachshund) and we had a vibrate collar for him. Works alright but it's less sensitive and aggressive collar compared to the shock one. Took about 1-2 months for him to learn not to bark like he did before. Overall is now a quiet dog, especially compared to others. I also snapped whenever he barked so he would associate my snap with the vibrate. With the collar off if he barks I snap and he stops from the snap alone.

Some bark collars spray a scent which stops dogs barking but personally I would ask maybe a vet or something for a recommended product.. shock collars aren’t always the best.
Though your baby will have heard the dog while inside your tummy so probably won’t even notice when its born. It will be used to it. 
You may find that the birth of your little one stops the dog. Animals sometimes respond to changes well. 
Maybe you could find recommendations of how to stop the particular behaviour online that tells you specifically about the breed

I have a vibrate collar for my dog and it’s one of the best decisions we’ve made for training him.
You can also take it with you on walks (if your dog pulls) or to the park (if he’s a humper and jumper like mine). 
The one I have is a hunting brand - sound and vibration. They walk you through the set up to get your dog used to it and we have only had to use the sound since the - he knows what happens next.

We got the collar that sprays citronella when our dog barks. SHe used to bark at other people’s houses whenever my husband or I stood up.
The first time we put the collar on her at my sisters place, it sprayed her when she barked and she went quietly under the table a little depressed and stopped barking. 
Now- if she starts barking, all I have to do is take the collar out and show it to her and she stops. I don’t even have to put it on her!

Get the collar. Some people also have the dogs vocal chord cut by a vet. That is definitely more drastic though I would try the collar first.

Same here! With the barking and howling and type of dog. But my daughter and him are bff now. He just barks at everything.. the tv when there is any animal, dogs walking by, people walking by..... and just because 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ I’d love to know how this works!

Consistency and training is key, my jacks never responded well to shock collars. Actually, he yelped so loud each time so we threw it out because it never stopped his barking.
There is something thats like a "bark stopper" at petsmart and its a little ultrasonic egg that emits a noise to make them stop, but Jack Russells are natural protectors so they bark a lot.
