My grandma is my best friend.😇😍

Hannah

So, my grandma practically raised me, has always prayed for me, taught me how to cook, and has always given me the best advice. She’s truly my best friend. She’s the one person who always checks in on me to see how I’m doing. Everything seemed to be going normal until this past year. She started falling a lot and couldn’t remember a lot of people. Dr. said it’s dementia which happens with old age but I don’t know how to handle it. My aunt moved her into a rehabilitation center and started asking her what stuff she wants to give to certain people which needed to happen because she’s getting so confused lately and couldn’t live all by herself with my aunt being a principal of a school she had no time to go all the way back to the house and check on her. My grandma decided to give me the rocking chair she would rock me in and sing songs to me when I was little. She fell and got put back in the hospital not too long ago and when I came to visit her she had a DNR bracelet on and I about lost it. However, she said she wouldn’t want to live in pain if it came to that point which I guess I understand. Now it’s Christmas and she can’t remember a lot, spaces out, and can’t get the grandkids gifts which she always loved doing. So, now it’s my turn to be strong and pray for her and try to help her remember the good times. So, this Christmas I got my grandma a photo album with space next to the pictures to write about the memories. I’m going to put the pictures in order from when I was born until my wedding two months ago. This might be her last Christmas and I can’t even stand to think about it. I guess I don’t know what this post is? An appreciation post for my grandma I guess. Or just an appreciation post for all of those people in our lives who have always been there for us. My grandma is my hero. Now I want to see your heroes! If anyone at all reads this all the way through then post a picture down below if you and your hero or just that person in general who’s always been there.
