Why do women get their BFP on opk but still don’t conceive 😔

Answer

For me its annovulatory cycles. You can get an LH surge (positive OPK) without releasing an egg. Which happens a lot for me because I only have one ovary. It's always very hit or miss for me when using OPKs. I know some are just surges, but not being able to accurately tell if I'm going to ovulate or not that cycle, it's easier just to BD those days anyway. Even if it's a bust cycle. Which 50% or more are annovulatory cycles for me. Temping is more accurate and can tell you if you actually release an egg but I'm not going to do that when 6+ months out of the year I don't actually ovulate. It's a lot of wasted time for me. I haven't touched OPKs in years either because it's a waste of money for me lol.

our bodies gear up to ovulate but don’t actually. it’s called an anovulatory cycle. it’s why some women temp with a thermometer! or it could be as simple as the timing is off?! baby dust ✨
