Sex toys abroad?

I’m going on holiday in a fortnight and I want to take my new remote controlled vibe with me. I want to give the remote to my boyfriend one night while we’re out at dinner but I don’t know how to ask him (advice on that would also be helpful).

I know it would be fine to put my vibe in my suitcase that I’m checking, but I’m nervous. Has anyone else flown with toys before? Are you even allowed?
