Just Curious; Did Your Doctor Tell You This Also?

Question

I went to my 37 week doctors appointment yesterday ; Amalah now weights 6 pounds 2 oz, I Weight 179. 
My doctors appointment the week before; Amalah was 4 pounds 8 oz. I weight 179 
I didn’t gain any weight; My Doctor said I need to eat more, because my baby is under weight . 
My Due Date Is January 17.

Your baby isn’t under weight? My was 6 lbs 8oz at birth at 41 weeks. That’s odd that your doctor would say that

We’re kind of the same. I went to my 36 week appt, but I’m more close to 37 weeks (tomorrow) and baby weighs 6 pounds 1 once. I haven’t gained any weight til now. I gained 10 pounds, but when I went she said baby was good and healthy.

My first was 6 lb 10 oz at birth on her due date so I’m curious how 6.2 is underweight at 37 weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️

At 37 weeks my doctor said baby was 5 pounds and she didnt say anything about her being underweight, just that she's going to be a petite little peanut

Interesting  I’m same time as you; however my doctors and I mean doctors cause I never go to the same one, have NEVER checked my baby’s weight. 🤔 which I think is odd. But even so, if mine aren’t checking, than your doctor checking and judging you that way doesn’t sound fair. I think you’re doing great because your baby is actually gaining weight (from what I understand through your post). Plus, every woman’s body reacts differently.

The estimated weight is usually off by at least a pound so that doesn’t really mean anything. Especially if baby is expected to be at least 6lbs at 37 weeks.

My baby was weighing in at 6lbs 5oz at 34 weeks. My first weighed 7lbs 14.6 oz at 39 weeks and 3 days

I gained alotttt with my first and he was born 5lbs 15oz at birth, 37 weeks.
I didn’t gain as much this pregnancy and his estimated weight at 36 weeks was 8lbs 11oz. 
I feel like how much you eat doesn’t make a difference how much the baby weighs.

I was small for gestational age when I was born. So I’ve always been a smaller framed person. Pre pregnancy 5’6-7 and 120lbs. From 26wk to 32wk I didn’t gain any weight and hung out around 135lbs. My OB did a growth scan to check on baby girl and she was perfectly fine. They estimated her around 4lbs and 35% of growth percentile. 50 is average. My dr said she wouldn’t worry about my weight gain anymore because I’m smaller and more than likely Nora, our daughter, will have my frame.

I lost almost 50 pounds early on in my pregnancy, then gained back about 6 and for the last 3 months I’ve weighed the same but as long as the baby is growing then you’re fine!
