Tell him or don’t??

My father is very homophobic. He hates the LGBTQ+ community. I am a 22 year old female who is bisexual. My father doesn’t necessarily like me a lot. I’m sure he loves me, just in a distant way. I am happily married to a wonderful man. I do however want my father to know that I am bisexual. It’s who I am. I feel my parents should know. I’m scared he will hate me and want nothing to do with me if I tell him though. Should I tell him or no??

I think it would be one thing if your partner were female, but you're happily married to a man. At this point, why is it imperative that he know the intricacies of your sexuality?

Some things are better left unsaid. I have no intention of telling my parents because of how they are and I don't feel like being drug through the mud about it.

I would tell him if you feel it’s an important part of your identity. If he decides to be more distant from you, it’s his loss as a parent. It’s basically 2019. This homophobic shit can’t fly anymore

In my opinion it's not about what everyone else thinks that you should or shouldn't do. It's about what you feel deep down and if you feel like that's a part of you that you want him to know about because only you know what reactions you are going to be okay with and if you're going to be okay with the chance of him being extremely distant. I would say to go with the decision you feel is best because everyone has to step outside of their comfort zone every now and then.

If you really feel he should know, tell him. But if you'd rather keep your relationship unchanged, don't tell him. You're gambling by telling him and it sounds like you're already on rocky ground.

I think that if it’s important to you you should tell him. It’s a part of who you are and I can understand wanting to be fully transparent about that. Especially if there’s a slim chance of him understanding the LGBTQ community a little more.

I’ve never acted upon it, but feel as though I could identify as a bisexual. But I’m with a man, and have been happily for 4 years. I don’t plan on changing that, and don’t feel as though anyone other than my fiancé needs to know. I realize it’s apart of you, and you don’t want to keep it a secret per say, but if you know your father will react poorly, I wouldn’t mention anything. Unless you plan on leaving your husband and finding a woman to be in a relationship with, I don’t think it’s pertinent for your parents to know.

Your parents don’t need to know who you are sexually attracted to until you meet your spouse. 
I am bisexual but didn’t and haven’t and won’t tell my parents. 
Sex life is something that shouldn’t be discussed with parents in my personal opinion I mean if your parents are genuinely open and accepting then yes but strict or religious parents like mine and from what it sounds like yours I wouldn’t
