Abreva during first trimester?

I am almost 9 weeks and I feel a cold sore coming on. Non- pregnant, I would be popping Valtrex twice a day but I've had conflicting info on whether it's safe during pregnancy.
Anyone know if Abreva is safe to use? Without intervention, my lip will need its own zip code. Ugh!

With my first pregnancy I got like 100000000 cold sores in the first trimester and used Abreva my OB said that I could have taken my Valtrex. You should ask your OB.

Valeted is perfectly safe. In fact your dr will probably have you start taking it daily at 36 weeks if you plan to deliver vaginally.
