What would you do?

I’ve been breast feeding my 4 month old on demand and it’s been going beautifully. We were searching for a babysitter for both our baby and 2 year old because we’re in a wedding New Years Eve. She babysat for my 2 year old a couple times and we really liked her, but tonight was the first time I left her with both of them.

She’s always made comments about how petite my baby daughter is even though I know she’s average for a breast fed baby. She’s meeting all her milestones and is average on the growth chart at her last checkup.

First of all, she used about twice the amount of pumped milk I thought she’d need, depleting my small arsenal of pumped milk. When I got home she asked if I’d been drinking which I’d had a couple drinks but wasn’t by any means impaired and told me I couldn’t breast feed her because she’d get fetal alcohol syndrome. I had some formula in case of emergency which we’ve never used and told her I’d use that. After she left I just breast fed my baby as usual because I didn’t feel impaired at all.

She went on to tell me that she didn’t think I was producing enough milk and my baby is too small for her age. 😑 I didn’t tell her off because other than that she really is great with my kids and I need her for the wedding on New Years Eve. However, there’s no way I’ll be able to pump enough milk by then since she’ll be babysitting her for 8 hours.

My question is, for the wedding on New Year’s Eve would you a) just have babysitter give her formula (I don’t even know if she’d take it, she’s never drank it before) or b) bring baby to the wedding and breast feed as usual although I won’t be able to drink much or relax.
