After you had your baby.. did you feel overwhelmed by visitors?

There's some family members that only come around when something big happens. I really think its rude and fake.. and to be honest, i feel like i dont want anyone who hasnt cared to check up on me at all this whole time or seen me at all my entire pregnancy, to come to the hospital. I dont think its fair for them to do that. I also have a huge family and im worried about being overwhelmed by it.

I did have preeclampsia and for some “odd” reason, my blood pressure kept elevating when my MIL came so the nurses asked her to leave and not come back 😂👏🏻👏🏻

Haven’t had babe yet but anyone who doesn’t show interest now/doesn’t come to the baby shower will meet our son via fb pictures and posts 🤷🏻‍♀️

Tell them to get lost. All it is is them wanting to be nosey and see the new baby. That’s it. After that visit (or a couple more), they’ll be gone again like nothing happened. So I’d personally disregard how they felt being offended 🤷‍♀️

We had so many people come visit with the baby while still in the hospital that I was passing out from hemorrhaging. Even had my brother & his wife was in the room when they came to get hand fulls of blood clots I was passing. Some was as big as my sons torso that I had to actually push like giving birth to get out. My brother did step out his wife stayed. I found it extremely rude. I had a lot of complications & no one seemed to care that I was giving birth to blood clots & passing out. They didn’t think once that I might want some damn privacy while getting a blood transfusion to stay alive. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I had a traumatic delivery and was so ill for a week afterwards that I didn’t want to be alone. I was scared to be alone because of the constant flashbacks so I really did urge people to come visit. A lot of people don’t want to pry and say will just give you some time but I didn’t want it. 
It was also December so everyone was busy doing Christmas shopping I felt really alone when my partner went back to work too

My parents and my brother and his girlfriend came to visit us at the hospital. they were there for about 45 mins and they left and I didn’t see them until I got home. I spent 3 days in the hospital just us 3

No, because it was only my family. My SOs family is exactly how you decribed, so they were not welcome if had they shown up nor invited to come over.

I require anyone wanting to come to the hospital to text/call first. I’m breastfeeding and baby bonding....and sleeping. My parents come and my husband’s dad comes. That’s usually it. But this pregnancy I will be delivering at the hospital where I work. So I’m worried EVERYONE will want to come to OB to see the baby. Im just going to make sure everyone knows to wait for me to say yes they can come first. No surprises.
