Do y’all have a guest room in the house?

I have a spare room and I’m not sure whether I want to make it into a guest room or not. My husband and I have friends over often but we don’t really have people staying the night. Does it come in handy for y’all? Is it convenient?

My parents do and it’s come in handy a couple times. My fiancé want to get a 2 bedroom apartment so one can be a guest room but honestly I’m not into it. Especially since we’d be living in an apartment a few years. It’s too expensive and you hav to buy furniture and such and I don’t like people staying the night due to my pets. I’m scared they’re going to let them out or something. And it’d creep me out a bit like if my fiancé let a friend stay over I didn’t know. It’s your choice but I would get an air mattress for emergencies but wait and see if people would actually spend the night

Well I mean we did,now it’s my Nieces room which she doesn’t sleep in so I don’t know what she has it, her mom won’t let her go in there

My grandparents have 2 spare rooms. One is set up as an office but has a day bed with a trundle underneath it. It looks super tasteful but is also very practical cause they get a lot of over night visitors.

We have 2 spare rooms, the smaller bedroom, my husband and I turned it into a nice California closet, with an island in the center for my bras, underwear, socks and jewelery. Shelves and drawers on two of the walls for folded clothes, shoes and hand bags and the 3rd one is for hanging clothes and the wall that doesn't have anything on it is double glass French doors, that go out to the balcony. The other spare room we actually use as my husbands room, unless we have over night guest. My husband and I have the hardest time sleeping in the same bed with one another.. he snores so loud it wakes me up, he likes complete darkness, I like the blinds to be open, I like a soft bed, he likes a hard bed, I like a little static noise as I try to fall asleep and he likes complete silence, he also wakes up at the crack of dawn to go to PT.. so it kinda just works better for us so that we both get a good night's sleep. Lol.

When we built our house I was adamant that I wanted a guest room. We actually built a loft above our garage that has a small kitchen, full bath and a bedroom. It was built in mind for visiting family that may want to stay for a little longer than normal (my parents live overseas so when they visit they often stay for a month and this way we all get our own space). And we currently have two spare rooms in the house (one will become our third child’s bedroom though). We use one as a guest room. It’s great for having family to stay and as I work on call it’s great to have a spare room where our nanny can stay if needed- it doesn’t happen often as my husband is usually home, but when it does it’s super helpful. When my husband and I first got married we didn’t have a lot of guests, but now that we’re older I’ve found that family and friends tend to visit more often especially now that we have space for them to stay. It’s really nice.
