Already in labor at 23 weeks! 😥

Diane • 31 years old. 2 IUIs, 3 IVF Cycles 💙👼🏼👼🏼💙

While on vacation in Florida Last Thursday, I began to feel contractions every 30 minutes and then after using the bathroom, noticed I lost my mucus plug. I went straight to Labor and Delivery only for some On-Call doctor to tell me that my membranes are protruding, the cervix is completely gone (I was measuring a very long cervix the week before!) and that she would have to take out my twins and they would be non-viable. I was so shocked, I didn’t even have a reaction other than Wanting to speak to my OB. After that, I was transferred by ambulance to two other hospitals, finally arriving at a Level 3 Nicu/ 24/7 in-house specialists hospital. They put me on IV fluids and medications right away and gave me the harsh reality that I can have my water fully break at any moment, leaving my twins with very low chances of survival at 23 weeks 2 days. By the grace of god, five days later, my babies are still safely growing inside of me and we have made it to the 24 week mark where chances of survival are almost doubled. One of my babies head is basically plugging up the cervix for now. I am currently leaking amniotic fluid but as long as I don’t fully rupture, I can continue to carry and provide them with a better chance every day.

I am very grateful to have my babies survive the past week and hopeful they can stay safe and healthy for a few more. This is to show you that anything can happen and at any time!!! Please pray that we can stay safe over the New Year and that my babies will be strong healthy boys!
