Biophyscial profiles - Weekly ultrasounds??

Question

I'm 33 weeks and my dr has me doing weekly biophysical profile ultrasounds weekly until I deliver. Each week during my ultrasound they will check my fluid levels, and measure specific movements on the baby. I've had high BP for most of my pregnancy, and have been taking medication to help regulate this. 
Everybody I've asked has never heard of this. Is anyone else in the same situation?

My understanding is those are more common in high risk pregnancies. I’d ask why.

With my first, High BP ended in preeclampsia and emergency CSection at 35 wks. 
This pregnancy been on meds from beginning and it spikes pretty quickly. Strict bed rest since 28 wks and doing weekly Ultrasounds to check everything you mentioned and growth. Also doing NSTs 2x week. 
This is common for high risk pregnancy and BP / Pre eclampsia can get bad from one day to the next.

Yes, I’m getting these too. I have gallstones and need my gallbladder taken out. We learned this last week :( I’m hoping to make it to 36/37 weeks. I can only eat fruits, veggies, and whole grains to keep from having another painful episode that could push me to have surgery. The surgeon wants to have baby delivered before taking out my gallbladder due to baby being so high.

I’m having the same thing plus weekly NSTs, have been since about 30 weeks due to an early elevated AFP ( could mean my placenta will stop working early ), high blood pressure, and low fluid levels.

Me too, for the same reason! I go weekly.  Every other week I get growth and biophysical, every other week just biophysical.

I had them with my last pregnancy because I was considered high risk. Although it is a little nerve racking, at least you get to see your little one every week😍

I also get weekly ultrasound to check up on baby girl, I have gestational diabetes I started receiving them weekly at 30 weeks I’m currently 34 weeks and will continue to receive ultrasounds until birth which honestly I don’t hate I love getting to see my baby weekly

Yup, I get biophysical profiles since 20 weeks. At the end of the ultrasound, they give me a score of how the baby rated and if there were any red flags. Then starting at 28 weeks I get a full anatomy scan every 4 week. I had an abnormal 20 week anatomy scan, the abnormality can sometimes signal iugr. Love seeing the baby all the time, and I know they are doing it for the baby’s wellbeing and to catch things early but it gets old quick.

I have to start these next week due to having Gestational Diabetes. So I’m in the same boat. I have weekly checkups that started at 28 weeks as well as monthly growth ultrasounds but now starting next week (when I’m 33 weeks) we have the BPP Checkups to add. I’ll be induced at 39 weeks but between now and then I have 15 appointments 😂

It’s pretty standard for high risk pregnancies which I would think high blood pressure would indicate.
