Really thought last night was it 😓

Chelsea

I was 37W exactly yesterday. I hadn’t got much sleep at all the night before due to BH contractions. Lost my plug gradually over the last week. Got up at 5, felt ok, started my cleaning/nesting for the day.

Around 2pm, contractions started getting a lot more regular. 6pm we headed to hub’s brother’s for NYE party, I spend most of the night in the pool (it’s the middle of Aussie summer). I start timing contractions at 7pm. By 8pm, they are 4.5 mins apart lasting for 40-50 seconds but not incredibly painful. They uncomfortable as hell and I’m in pain but I can deal with it - I’m stubborn as shit so just I’m just waiting it out. 10pm I call the hospital, they advise for me to come in as they are getting more intense (no sign of waters yet).

We spend 4 hours in L&D, in the pool, on the ball, being monitored. One midwife reckons baby will be here pretty soon going off our heart rates & blood pressure (they don’t vaginally examine in Aus unless there are complications).

By 2am (Happy New Year!🤣) contractions have fizzled out, I’m exhausted and just want to go home to bed. So get put on leave and sent on my way ☹️ really thought it was time!

But we got a good sleep, woke up and my body feels like I’ve run a few marathons. Her head is so low and there’s so much pressure, so lots of walking and water today, more than ready for this to be over.

Hubs was absolutely amazing and it was really reassuring to know how calm and ready we both are for when baby girl finally does decide to show. On an unrelated note, I really need hubs to get his suspension checked on his car 😅😅😅 (I cursed & cussed out a few potholes on the way to hosp).

Anyone else get false alarms and then had their baby soon after???? 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
