How to incorporate pumping into breastfeeding schedule?

I have a 3 week old and was told to wait until she was 4 weeks to start using my pump but I have no idea how often or for how long I’m supposed to use my pump? 
I still plan on breastfeeding, it’s just that sometimes I’d like my husband to feed her so i can get a longer stretch of sleep! 
She feeds every 2-3 hours and for about 15-20 minutes on one side!

After the first feed of the day, wait about 30-60 min after and pump.. or you can do it straight away from the side she doesn’t feed on. You should get the most after that first morning feed. If you’re only wanting the occasional feed I’d only pump once, maybe twice a day (first and second feed). You may not get much initially but after a few days your milk will adapt to produce that bit more in the morning.

Since you’re just doing it for an occasional bottle, you don’t really need a routine pumping schedule. If baby is just eating on one side, I would choose one feeding to pump the opposite side (either during or afterwards) and save that milk for a bottle
