EBF night feedings

Ashleigh

EBF Mamas I need your advice...

My son is five months old and is waking every 2-3 hours at night. Several people have told me that isn't normal and we need to sleep train. However, being EBF, I know it digests faster than formula. I know babies also nurse for a variety of reasons other than just needing to eat. He also has been getting distracted during feeds during the day and is going through a lot (working on top two teeth, trying to crawl and master sitting).

Do we need to sleep train or is this normal? He sleeps in his crib at the foot of our bed. His own room isn't an option as our other bedroom has his older sister in it. We already use white noise.

Other suggestions/experience is helpful as no close friends or family have nursed exclusively this long except those that also have bed-shared.

Thanks in advance ladies!!
