Longer names for Cody?

Question

Any ideas for extended version of Cody? I like the nick name but would not want to do it as the diet name. I like Dakota but hubby says it's. Girls name.

I had a male friend in high school whose name was Dakota, but he went by Cody.  Hubby now works with a man named Dakota, but he used to work with a girl named Dakota.. So it is definitely a unisex name!

Dakota is cruelly a Sioux native American tribe. It's neither male nor female. I personally wouldn't use Cody as a nickname for it but that's the only name I can think of that could use cody as a nnm Why not just name that he baby Cody if that's what you're going to wind up calling it anyway?

Why not use Cody as a middle name, and then call him that? I guess I just don't actually understand wanting to lengthen a name so you can use the original as a nickname. If you like Cody, why not just use it? Maybe Cody just isn't the perfect name for your baby...
