Should I buy the crib?

Question

I have been TTC for 2.5 years, no clue when I will have a baby, but I WILL have a baby, one way or another. There is this really good deal on a crib that a love! Without this sale, I will probably never be able to afford this crib (or at least justify spending that much on one). Should I go ahead and buy it?

I wouldn’t, you’re struggling with infertility and it’s great that you’re staying positive about it but fact of the matter is you don’t know if you’ll get pregnant next month or if it’ll take you 2 more years or even 10 more years or ever. If you have a plan to do IVF this year or adopt this year then sure but there’s always going to be sales and having an empty crib staring you in the face while not being able to get pregnant would break your heart. Personally I didn’t buy anything until I got pregnant and I was struggling with infertility for 2 years, currently 9 weeks pregnant and still the only baby item I have is the onesie I used to announce to my husband.

Given the information you have given I would instead set that money aside in say a savings account. There will always be cribs on sale. I would wait to buy a crib until you know you are going to have a baby for sure. You can keep adding money by the time you are ready to start buying thins you will have a decent amount to go shopping with.

We bought my daughter a crib and she absolutely hates being in there even for a second , so I had to sell it smh (she’s 4 months), I personally dont buy thing before I’m pregnant . I start buying everything  when I was 30 weeks because I know even at 40 weeks something might go wrong and I just didn’t wanted to put myself through hell. BUT our opinion don’t really matter , it’s your choice 💯

Me and my husband bought a $600 travel system that was on sale when I was barely 6 weeks pregnant not having any idea if the baby would stick or having it confirmed by a Dr. I wouldnt have been able to spend the money on the original price but I knew what I wanted. I kind of took it as a sign that one way or another we'd eventually have a baby to use it with. I say go for it! You can always sell it if you change your mind.

I wouldn't buy it bit that's up to you hun when I was pregnant with my kids I buy a few little bits when I've had my 12 week scan bit I don't get the cot an pram an all the big main things till im in my 20weeks

I wouldn’t. I started buying clothes as soon as I got a positive and then had a miscarriage. I got pregnant the next month, started buying clothes again, then had another miscarriage. It was really hard to see those stupid baby clothes and I nearly had a breakdown finding a place to put them where I couldn’t see them. There are always going to be sales.  I would just wait if I were you.

I've bought a crib already. And a high chair. And some cloth nappies, blankets and unisex clothes.
