Midol or ibuprofen for really bad menstrual cramps

I have had horrible cramps my whole life and I’ve always had different forms of birth control since I was young (13) (I’m now almost 21) and I’m currently off birth control. For about a few months off of all BC my cramps and period was great but now it’s worse again. And I forbid to go on any BC because I want a normal period and nothing in my arm or cervix anymore or even medication. I use ibuprofen and heating pads and warm baths but now I’m wondering if there is better things out there. If you could explain and let me know that would be great thanks!!
