For financial, ecological, and comfort as primary reasons, I decided I want to cloth diaper my son when he gets here. I am obviously nervous about the learning curve, and the extra couple loads of laundry. But I finally ordered my first set of prefolds and I received them in the mail today. And as soon as I touched them, I felt so relieved and validated.

They are SO soft. And I know they’re going to change a little when I prep them, but they are still going to be so much softer than disposable diapers. My entire life I’ve hated wearing pads (I have vulvodynia and chronic pelvic pain, tampons are painful to use) because they give me rashes and the material feels god awful on the skin. All I could think about was wanting him to be comfy in whatever his little butt gets put in. And I know he’ll be comfortable in cloth.
