1st time trying to conceive

Hi all, I am 35, my husband and I have been ttc for only a month so far for our first child 😊 I hope this isn’t too much information but I am wondering if anyone has any similar stories to share. We have been together for 18 years and have only ever used the “pull out method” I am reading so many stories of women accidentally getting pregnant while practicing this that I am now nervous that maybe we can’t conceive. Is it possible that we were just “that good” at pulling out for the last 18 years? Has anyone ever practised this method and became pregnant once trying? I am wondering how long to I wait before seeing a fertility doctor? 6 months? Thanks for any feedback!!
