Do you agree with children having screen time as much as they want

Do you think kids should get screen time whenever they want and why

We have the TV on often because I go nuts without the background noise.  He doesn’t get to play with my phone or iPad.  And if I notice he’s paying too much attention to the TV... off it goes.  Kids do not get to dictate what happens in the household.  I do.

My 10 year old niece was allowed to watch as much tv as she wanted to from a very young age. She had a TV in her bedroom before she was even 1. Now, she has a literal addiction. If anyone but her touches the remote she flips out. She’s even pinched her little sister because she changed the channel on her one day. And if you take the tv away as punishment? Oh boy. She screams at the top of her lungs until she loses her voice.

My sister does that with my niece and I think it's horrible. She's 2 1/2 and can post on Snapchat. She had her own phone for s while before she ruined it. She will freak out because she wants to sit on the phone. There's no limit for her and it sucks.

My 2 year old has a phone. Her dad (my husband) video chats her while at work so she answers and talks to him. But she only plays on it for an hour a day and goes to her toys and chalk board. Her phone has taught her so many words and sentences and jokes😂😂. I have parental controls so i can block youtube and junk when i choose. But she doesn't stay long her choice. She isn't a brat and she doesn't scream and holler for it if she doesn't have it. My 1 year old won't get a phone until she is 2😂

Heck no. This generation is way too dependent on screen time IMO. I had a friend who’s kids each had their own tablets (5$2) also had a tv in their rooms and that’s all they did. Had soooo many toys but always on their tablets. Of course she was always on her phone as well. It drove me nuts when I’d come over and my son (2 at the time) wanted to play with hers and he was a zombie on the tablet. So no screen time for my son besides tv. Even then it’s limited.

My kids won’t pay attention to the tv for longer then 10 minutes. They won’t watch a whole movie, it’s so annoying I can’t clean or anything. 🤦🏼‍♀️

My 2 year old just got a kindle fire for her birthday from her grandma, I love it! I don't have a set amount of time she's allowed on it, but she is never on it long. To her, it is like any other toy, and she will lose interest in it pretty quickly and move onto something else. She's a very active child, she would rather be running around than watching TV. She's also learned some songs and colors from her favorite shows.

We do TV before nap (sometimes) and bedtime. Unless we’re having a movie night. My son only gets my phone to look at pictures, and play ABC mouse (under my supervision) for no more than a half an hour a day. The rest of the day we are playing, eating, out of the house doing activities in the mornings. No iPads at dinner or out to dinner (unless it’s a super long dinner). We honestly don’t have much time for screen time. 
There are some meltdowns when time is up from pictures/ABC mouse. But those are the rules and he usually calms down after a minute. 
We do keep the tv as background noise (news) the majority of the day. But if it becomes a problem it gets turned off.

What I do with my two older children is they have to do their homework, and all their chores (a bunny and a rat) they get tv until bed. But they also play around and play with my 1 yo.
