Delayed cord clamping??

Any other moms looking into this??? Ive heard really good things about it and I just wanna hear others opinions on it!!

Really research! I’ve found that after about a minute, it doesn’t add any benefits to the baby and can start posing a risk of infection because it essentially becomes a dead organ quick. I would delay for a minute, but no longer than.

My doc said they wait 1-2 min standard unless we request otherwise but that more than 2 min is not beneficial and can be harmful actually

My doc said that the hospital I’m delivering at is already practicing this. I bet it’s the same for your delivering hospital. I asked how long they delay and he said a minute usually. He even said that even if you get a csrction, permitted everything goes accordingly, they can also delay cord clamping. It’s sooo good for baby as they get all that blood and cells back. My doc said it’s basically like a baby blood transfusion.

My first was 5w early. I asked my OB at the time about this and she said that it increases the chances of jaundice and other complications which is why she advised against it. This was almost 3 years ago and i have a new OB for my current pregnancy, plan on asking about this

Hi there. I talked to my dr about this when I was going to give birth to my son 2 years ago. He said absolutely and it has become the “norm” to just immediately put baby on the mom and wait to clamp.

My doctor said she waits a minute before clamping but not much longer because it raises the babies blood pressure and increases the risk of jaundice. She’s a great doctor and delivered my first two, so I’m going with her.
