My husband is 27, I’m 25, we have a 5 month old daughter, have been together 6 years, married for a little over 1. He started work as a police officer (public safety) about 4 years ago, did training on day shirt and now has worked nights for three and a half years, 7 pm - 7 am, 12 hour shift. Which actually turns into 14 hours... you know how that goes. I’m having a hard time with him being gone. When he’s working for a week straight I don’t really see him because he sleeps all day while I take care of our daughter and then while he’s working all night I’m asleep. I’m thinking of asking him if he’d be willing to switch to day shift. 7 am- 7 pm. I feel that even if he worked all day at least I’d have him in bed with me all night. Anyone have any insight on this or advice? Not seeing him and him being constantly tired is making me resentful and it’s hurting our marriage. Please help!!
