Unmedicated Birth

Do any of you plan to have an unmedicated birth or have you already experienced one?

What did you do to prepare for this and how did you cope during labor?

If you’ve had one before are you having another one?

I’m really interested in trying to have an unmedicated birth if possible. My thinking is just to take it one contraction at a time and breathe through it but I would love some insight.

I have this idea that I will labor for the most part at home & then drive to the hospital when contractions are unbearable. We only live about 10 minutes away. I’m a FTM so clearly feeling a little overconfident & a bit naive but I like to think it’s possible.
