Losing mucus plug all week. ?

At my last appointment I had my cervix checked and I was about 1cm dilated, my mucus plug has been slowly coming out this whole week but today it’s larger chunks. I’ll be 36 weeks in two days and this is my second pregnancy so does this mean I’m closer to labor ? I didn’t lose my mucus plug last pregnancy until 38 weeks and then went in to labor at 39 weeks exactly but I was on bed rest and with this pregnancy I’m moving around a lot more. The last three days ive been using the bathroom more frequently / feeling like I have the flu and having sharp pains that feel like the baby is gonna fall out ! I’m just assuming that’s from him being so low. Any second time moms experience labor sooner than with ur first ? I’m not wanting to call my ob and then feel silly unless this is something I should be concerned about .. my next appointment is tomorrow
