How would you react if an in-law disrespected you?

It really depends on the degree of disrespect. Snide comment I may brush it off. Try to go against my parenting with my kid you better watch out because I'll come unglued.

Depends honestly. Sometimes my husband will talk to them for me and sometimes I'll say something

My MIL has been less then easy to deal with. When my husband married me and we ended up pregnant we couldnt afford to send her money anymore so she turned on me and our child. She has threatened to call the cops on me, Told me to get an abortion, told my husband that he shouldnt have married me and that i and our child weren’t in gods plans for him.. 
so finally after so long of him dealing with her and me just giving up i kind of snapped and went off on her and stood up for myself and our child and basically told her unless she’s talking nice about us or legitimately interested in our well being to leave us out of her mouth.. she hasn’t said anything negative since.. I’m trying to be the bigger person and get her here for my husbands bday and to meet her grandson but i know I’ll be uncomfortable in my own home with her here... soo I’m conflicted but i want to do it for my husband.. 
i would have you SO talk to your in law and if that doesn’t work then stick up for yourself you can only let someone disrespect you so much before you have to do something about it

It has taken me a long time but after ten years of our relationship I’ll stand up to my MIL in front of the whole fam! No bars. She gives it to me so I give it back 🤷🏻‍♀️

I always find people that have actually had children already, tend to stand up for themselves more. I’m more reserved and shy and I look forward to hopefully being more confident as I have someone more important in my life to care about. It depends what was said really, if it is a little comment then you can brush it off because no everyone is going to like you🤷🏼‍♀️ but then if it’s constant I’d speak to my SO regarding it and would expect them to see if there is an issue. 
As I said at the beginning I’m sure when we finally have children that if a comment was made about my parenting or my child I think that would be crossing a line for me where I couldn’t keep my mouth shut. Xxx

I don’t take crap. If you disrespect me I will stand up for myself. How far I go to do so will depend on what was done or said.
