Is anyone waiting to announce the name?

Question

I refuse to tell anyone, family or friends, the name of the baby until it is born! 
I want to pick something me and my husband like and I don't care to hear anyone's opinion on it. No one name will satisfy everyone and I think people are less likely to give their unwelcome oppinion after the baby is already born.

Agree!! We are even waiting for the gender until baby is born! We official have a name for either sex and won't tell anyone lol

So true!!! With our first we had told my MiL the name we both liked and were leaning towards and she had nothing but nasty things to say. Needless to say slowly my husband started liking it less and less. So we had to go with a different name. So for our second baby we didn't tell anyone and we aren't telling anyone with this baby either. I don't understand why people don't remember the simple rule from when they were little. If you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all.  This is MY baby not yours. I will name her and raise her the way I want. It might not be the way you want or the way you did things but that doesn't mean it's wrong.

I have told close friends/ family that have asked what baby's name will be...but am not "announcing" it on Facebook until she is born

Our baby's gender is a surprise and we're keeping the names to ourselves (although my husband cheated and told a few people). We're doing this partly to avoid opinions we don't want and also to give us the freedom to change the names as much as we like. We've already changed our "chosen" girl and boy names several times.

I'm not. I could care less if someone in my family hates the names we have picked out. It's not their kid so no one but us has a say. And as for "name stealing" I don't care about that either.. Ppl are gonna like the same names regardless and no one I'm close enough to is having a baby anyways so whatever

We're waiting to announce his name til he's born. I feel like it's more solid and less likely to receive nasty comments. Especially when you're introducing this cutie and he just becomes the name.

We found out gender both times and first time we announced her name but second time we kept name a secret :)

I am waiting. My in laws were against my sons name since day one and tried to convince us every day to change it. Not dealing with that this time around.
