My parents are giving me shit for the job I applied to.
Long story short:
I've been working for the same company for 3 years. I've been offered a promotion as supervisor recently. However, my dad asked about the pay and when I told him he was disappointed because apparently my younger cousin who does not have a college degree, is earning the same amount (or more) as a manager for an entertainment staffing company, while I needed to have a MA degree for my position working with kids at a school site... That's my dad's perspective.
.... so I'm glad to have been promoted but am I selling myself short?? Btw my job is part time but I can move up to full time later... I really do love my job though. I love working at schools with children with special needs.
Please provide some insight and help me feel better bc I've been feeling shitty about this :(
I basically feel like I went to school for nothing when they ask me about my pay and then they compare it to hers... I can't help it.
