Due date wrong?

I took this test at 3 wks 3 days pregnant. (I had gotten multiple regular line positives the day before) and it said 2-3 past ovulation. That would mean it's actually 4-5 weeks pregnant.... Is it possible my due date calculated from my last period is wrong? Or more likely the test is wrong?? Thanks!

Answer

The test is based on average HCG levels at different weeks after conception. However, because there is so much variability in HCG levels from woman to woman, and even pregnancy to pregnancy, those tests can only give you a rough estimate - especially when you consider varying concentrations of HCG in your urine in a day. Maybe you ovulated sooner than you thought, or implanted on the early side, or your body simply produces more HCG!

That test just estimates based on your hcg levels (which must be high!) so go off your lmp still.
