Period ended

Hi, my period just ended today. I wasnt sure what day my partner and i should have sex to conceive but we did have sex just a few minutes ago and on the calendar it showed a green color and said i have a 9% chance of pregnancy. Ive read comments about having sex every other day. Does that mean have sex then skip one day then have sex again? The suck part is i work graveyard shift on the days that shows im ovulating. Those days said its a higher chance of being pregnant..
