How to keep from missing your SO?

Question

When physically away [for a long period of time] from your significant other who happens to always be super busy and/or cannot communicate via technology as often as you'd like, how do you deal when you're missing him/her a lot?

We take each other's shirts from the night before he leaves. Sounds strange but it's his smell that does it. He puts a clean one one before bed and gives it to me the morning he leaves. I do the same.

My husband  and I read a book together.  Sounds weird but we each tried to read the same chapter each day. We read A purpose driven life.  It was a way to feel connected and then we got to talk about it when we got to talk. I also am a huge fan of hand written letters and sending things in the mail.

My SO goes out of town for work quit often. When he isn't able to text me or call me I understand he is busy. But. Ever the less at the end of the day before he goes to sleep he will call me. Even to wake me up just to say hi and he misses me and good night. Its hard your going to miss them. Distance makes the heart grow fonder. And missing someone isn't bad exspecially when you know they will come home to you. 👫

Times like that are so tough for me!!! Honestly, I get depressed sometimes. When My SO and I are away from each other I try to stay occupied. Going to work, shopping, hanging with friends... Also, I plan little surprises for his arrival, such as his favorite meal or getting him a nice gift- it excites me for his arrival and makes me think about how shortly, we will be together again!

We did Skype, yahoo messenger, phone calls when possible, and then I had to keep busy so I worked full time and went to school full time any free time I was in the gym

I'm interested to know too because I may have to leave my husband for a month so he can work to pay for the move to join me.
