How long?

How long did it take until your doctor listened to you and had you tested? All my doctor said was that he would just put me on birth control to help with the pain instead of actually finding out if I have Endo. I have been on three different kinds of bc and they don't help with the pain. I also should have never taken any of them in the first place because I've had severe migraines since I was ten and with every bc it says not to take if you have severe migraines.

I blew my nurses up all week and specifically said “I refused BC because we are ttc.” They’re calling me tomorrow to schedule laparoscopy. Just be persistent with them and tell them what you want.

I was 16 when the pains started - took a year to have my first surgery which found it.
I'm now 28 and am having issues again (had surgery again in 2017 where they removed some)

I cant get a doctor to do the procedure so im going on herbal medication instead. I refuse to put more hormones in my body without a diagnosis.

Every doctor that I have been to to try and get them to listen ALWAYS started with birth control. While frustrating, it makes sense. If the birth control curbed the symptoms, what’s the rush for being invasive? I didn’t want to deal with that, so I just kept complaining (albeit, I was still in a lot of pain) the same as before the birth control. The biggest unfortunate part, you have to give the birth control pills 3-5 months to really settle in before you can tell if they’ll actually work for you. Doctors will always try the least invasive method first as long as your life isn’t at risk.

They literally have to go through a checklist, birth control, scan and then a specialist. 
One really important thing my specialist told me the whole way through is that it might seem as though they aren’t listening but they are. All the surgery will do is confirm and remove any if possible. Therefore if they believe it is that then to keep treating it as though you do. Having the surgery won’t mean anything except a concrete yes. 
It’s frustrating, believe me I know! But just take each day as it comes. Keep track of absolutely everything and just keep treating it as though you have endo.

My doctor told me the only way he could find out if I had endo and help me was laparoscopic surgery. He said if he went in and saw any, he’d remove it right then unless it was an ungodly amount which would require an additional surgery. However, I said no. I wouldn’t say he listened to me, he mostly talked at me for a while and focused on a different issue throwing this endo piece in before I left but also discounting it some due to my age and not understanding this has gone on for many years. Find a doctor who specializes in endometriosis and who will listen to you. I thought I did, but I was wrong so I will keep looking.
