Midwives vs OB?

Question

I just found out I’m pregnant and I always thought I wanted to use a midwife. 
Can you ladies give me any insight on using a midwife vs an OB? 
I’m not sure what the differences are and I’d like some pros and cons of both.

my vote os for midwife! we're paying about $2500 for the whole process of 9 months and l &d versus whatever the hospital Bill would be. midwives are more personal, many know EXACTLY what to do to help ease am ailment, and they just generally have more time to care about you as a person and a mom. I'll never have an OB- if I can help it!

Midwife all day long!!
I had a doctor with my first and I never even met the actual doctor that delivered my baby. I always spoke with a nurse when I called the hospital and when it came time to deliver, we were waiting for the doctor to arrive to the hospital before I could push my son out. (I had an epidural) and I got to the hospital at 10pm in active labor and I didn’t have my son til 4am.. the doctor had plenty of time to arrive before then. 
My first midwife actually worked at a hospital along side doctors. Every time I had a question I would call the hospital and they would immediately connect me with one of there 3 midwifes, and when I went into labor the midwife was there from start to finish, I barely saw a nurse at all. 
I’m doing a home birth this time around with a midwife and I’m already loving the personal experience I’m getting out of it.

I have used a midwife with my first 2 kids, I had to go to the OB in November due to an early miscarriage.  It only made it more clear I should definitely go for a midwife again. At the OB you are just a number, at the birth they only come in to catch the baby and try to be out within 20 minutes. With a midwife you bond and they will coach you trough labor. Also in my case, my daughter really wants to be there when our third baby is born, with an OB you are hospital bound and you have to surrender to all of their rules, my kids were not allowed in the delivery room. Everything about OB just feels bad for me, it is not me. I am going to give birth at home with the support of a medical board approved midwife.  At home, in a birthing pool, peace and quiet and my own things and my own rules.
