Raw hands?

Question

My daughter will be 5 months old on the 17th. She constantly has her hands in her mouth... her fingers are red from this. I put lotion on them but doesn't help. 
Advice?

Zero advice.. I’m having the same problem with my son, he’s 15 weeks old and loooves sucking on his fists.. they too are looking red & irritated. You didn’t have any success with the mittens? I was thinking of buying some.. I can’t think of anything else that could possibly help?

Don’t put lotion on her hands, especially if they go Steiger to her mouth. She is just eating the lotion off her hands. Putting her hands in her mouth is normal at this age. I would maybe try a teething mitt or something similar to protect her hands.
