What can happen?

My pills come in the mail and I'm not sure if they will be in before my other ones are gone. It won't matter sex wise as my boyfriend is gone at college right now. But I just want to know what will happen if I don't get them in time?

Answer

Depending on how late they come, nothing. If you're on the combination pill, you can miss a day or two and it's okay (I'd use condoms for a week after just to be safe though). If you're on the mini pill however you won't be protected anymore 24 hours after your last pill, and you'll probably end up getting your period while waiting for them in the mail (my obgyn used to have me stop taking my mini pills when I needed a period because stopping them triggers a period). When they come just start taking the pills where you left off (like if they come on a Wednesday don't start your new pack on a Sunday pill, take a Wednesday pill if your pills are labeled by day). Don't have unprotected sex for a week after you start your pills back up (you said your boyfriend is away at college but I just felt I should mention it anyway) and then you should be good to go
