Do home dopplers harm the baby if used to often???

The last time I was pregnant, I miscarried. This time I got a Doppler and being able to find the heartbeat any time I felt like worrying, was an amazing emotional boost! Recently we were just reading how using a Doppler to often could be harmful to the baby because of some for high frequency waves it emits. I was using it nearly every day!😰 Please, any thoughts on this???

Just has this convo with my obgyn. I said I was using is sparingly and he laughed and asked why. He said there's no harm, listen when I want and enjoy that wonderful sound. So my response--- OKAY!!  still keeping it short and not every day, just when I want a little jolt of extreme happiness. :)

Really the answer is maybe. 
But no one has been able to prove any actual harm. The CDC and other place mention vague "potential" risks. But again they are totally unproven.

To be fair no official study has ever proven them to be completely safe either.  But with 30 years of regular use and no concrete evidence of ill effects I feel comfortable using one.

No, it is not harmful. It uses sound waves, which are harmless. Excessive ultrasounds are harmful, but not the dopplers.

Perfectly safe to use at home as per research, midwives and doctors all over and anyone who can read. It's not like an ultrasound if that's what you're wondering.

We are not even using Doppler at the midwife's office because of the unknown risks. Get a fetoscope!

I have one and use it couple times a month. As soon as I find the heartbeat and hear it for a few seconds I stop. It won't harm the baby, just don't use it constantly or for long periods of time. 
I see a high risk specialist and a regular OB and they have both told me it doesn't do harm.

Excessive and prolonged use can potentially cause harm..this means using it for countless minutes on end and keeping it on the baby for a long period of time... everything is fine in moderation :)
