Anyone having a VBAC?

Question

With my first I had a vaginal birth, induced at 40+5 and had no issues. 8hrs of labor with 1hr of pushing. My second was breech and so I had a C-section. I've been told by my doctor I can either plan a C-section or plan for a VBAC (have to go into labor on my own). I'm not sure which route to go and was wondering if anyone is in this boat or has been in it before? Thank you for any input.

With a successful vaginal delivery under your belt, I totally would! (Don’t have any personal experience with this in particular, but I’m an L&D nurse so we see this a lot)

My doctor and hospital don’t even support VBACS. Even if they did, I have no desire to attempt natural birth again. I was induced at 41w4d due to low amniotic fluids and labored for 27 hours and got to 7cm before it was determined my son couldn’t fit into my pelvis and his heart rate plummeted. I was so exhausted from no sleep and no food prior to surgery that it made recovery so difficult for me. I’m opting for c-section, and I would opt so even if I had the full range of options. 
Being that you’ve had a successful vaginal birth, you’d likely be much more successful than I would be at a VBAC. Good luck!

I keep saying I wanna try a VBAC but it’s like I know it wouldn’t work. Induced at 41+6 with my waters already broken, contracting for a few days at 2cm. 12 hours on the hormone drip I was still 2cm 😡 babies heartbeat dropped and wouldn’t come up so it was emergency section under general anaesthetic. The whole thing was an absolute shambles from start to finish. 
I just feel in my gut I am one of those women who can’t deliver. I’m 95% settled on a repeat section

I am in the same boat. I was induced with my daughter at 41 weeks. She didn’t like the pitocin and her heart rate kept dropping. I made it to 7cm and swelled right back to 3cm after 12 hours of labor it was decided to go for c-section. I can’t decide if I want to try vbac or schedule c-section so my mom can be here to watch my 3 year old.

I’m in the same boat and have decided with a vbac. All the research I’ve done is pointing to a vbac being safer than an extensive surgery if you are a good candidate for vbac. I also have a toddler at home and would like to try and avoid the healing time of a c section. Call me crazy because my first delivery was beyond traumatic. 44 hours of hard labour, one hour of pushing and they lost his heart rate so I was rushed for an emergency c section. I may change my mind closer to delivery, but as of no it’ll be a vbac for me!

I'm actually in this position right now. With my first baby i had a c-section so I talked to my doctor about having a VBAC for this pregnancy. Im a little nervous but I've read a lot of success stories.

I labored 30 hours before the took me for c section didn’t even dilate past a finger tip 😩 my doctor also gave the option with the 2nd said she would support me either way but they way my c section scar has been feeling since this munchkin is growing is so uncomfortable.... not gonna risk it.. I wish I could have attempted

I have the same dilemma, i’m thinking c-section because it can be planned and if I go natural my husband might not be able to be there plus I wanna get my tubes tied so might as well do it at once!

My first was a c-section and I briefly spoke to my dr about it for this time. He is in favor of a c-section because of my size and how I carried my first... I am small, my hips NEVER widened and my son was basically in my rib cage the entire time (the top of my stomach even went numb). Also mentioned that I was going to need stitches somewhere... so I’m leaning towards c-section again but have some time to decide!

I am planning on a second VBAC! My first was born by emergency c-section after he didn’t tolerate an induction at 31 weeks due to preeclampsia, second was born via unmedicated VBAC. Totally different experiences! Unless this baby is breech or something, planning on another VBAC.
