My son took me seriously... πŸ˜‚ ----LONG POST

Jess β€’ Mom of 2 perfect girls and 1 amazing boy!

It's about time I tell my son's (very quick) birth story. My due date was January 5, but I had joked with my boyfriend for WEEKS about being the New Year's baby and how funny/unique it would be for all the kids birthdays to be a certain pattern. My oldest girl's birthday is 9/9/10 and her little sisters birthday is 3/3/12 so it would have been perfect if our son's birthday was 1/1/19! I also told him that if our son didn't have hair I was sending him back for another model. πŸ˜†

Fast forward to New Year's eve- I woke up feeling great and went through my daily routine as usual. Got my girls up and to school, went to work and had a great day, even worked a little over time (I work in a grocery store with great coworkers so no overly strenuous work for me). I didnt have any regular/worth timing contractions. When I got home I was still feeling great and went to get comfortable while my amazing man cooked dinner. I played around with him, our girls, and his grandmother that I was ready for our sweet boy to be here already and make him come out NOW! While I was saying this I felt like maybe I had peed myself little. I hadn't done that my entire pregnancy, but thought it might be possible so I went to the bathroom, changed my clothes and went to have dinner.

The very second I sat down my water broke! That was at 6:50 pm. Logan was so caught off guard and wanted to leave for the hospital immediately. I suggested that he eat dinner while I changed clothes again then we could leave. I had contraction 3 minutes apart from the time my water broke and they steadily got more and more intense. We went straight to the hospital to get checked in and the nurses immediately got started on my bloodwork and everything needed to allow me to have an epidural which I desperately wanted (I had an epidural with my first and had a good experience in delivery, but didn't have time for one with my second so I had her naturally).

My cervix wad checked on arrival and i was only dilated to a 3. After we got the all clear they started working on my epidural, but I was having 2 minute apart contractions and I swore I already felt some pressure. The epidural was in place on the 2nd attempt, but when I laid back I was DEFINITELY feeling pressure. The nurse looked and my son was ALREADY CROWNING! My nurse immediately called for backup and there was no time for the much needed pain relief to kick in.

Right when nurses started flooding in to help, the doctor showed up to "check on me". I heard him tell Logan that we were having a baby and asked "Do you want to deliver him or should I?" I pushed maybe 5 times and was beyond relieved to hear the sweet sound of our new addition's cries.

Phoenix Beau Anthony F made his way into the world at 9:10 pm (making my entire labor 2 hours and 20 minutes) on New Year's eve weighing 8 lbs, 20 inches long and with a head of hair to boot!
