9 month old isn’t crawling or saying/babbling mama and dads. My friends 9 month old is doing both and it worries me. I’m trying not to compare but is this normal?

I will bring it up to pediatrician this week at appointment just wondering if anyone else had a late crawler or babbler.

Every baby is different. Some babies exec skip crawling altogether and go straight to walking. One of my kids crawled at 5 months, one didn't start until age 1. My 4th is 8.5 months and not crawling at all yet. She just started saying mama but only in the morning when she wants to be picked up lol

my 9 month old like just started crawling, he had been army crawling before. every child is different! and in like the last week exploded with new sounds. it literally can happen at any moment!

Yes it's true that all kids do things at different levels and different ages to a certain extent your baby is only 9 months you could mention it to the dr but they may say give it a few more months and then if the baby still isnt doing it then they will look further into it babys do have to meet certain milestones https://pathways.org/growth-development/baby/milestones/       this is one of the websites I had to use for school it will give you a better understanding good Luck hun 😊

My baby didn’t really crawl but she was definitely a talker every baby is different! Put baby in a mat and leave tons of toys so the baby can get encourage to reach them and start crawling

My oldest didn't talk until 12 months or so, just babble before that. She walked and crawled early, but she was almost 3 weeks overdue so she was huge. Lol

Never compare your child to another! (I can’t even compare mine to each other!)
My oldest didn’t sit til 8 mos. didn’t crawl til 10 mos. didn’t walk til almost 17 mos and was a very quiet child until about a year. 
My youngest sat at 5 mos. crawled at 7 mos. walked at 13 mos. and is generally very loud. 
Kids do things at their own pace. No worries mama.

My daughter didn't crawl until 12 months and didn't walk until 15.  Try not to compare to others (a friend's daughter walked at 9 months!), but bring it up to the doc if you are concerned.

I worked as an infant teacher for 7 years, I saw babies not crawl or scoot until after a year and they ended up being perfectly fine. I’d just google gross motor activities for infants and try to practise them with her every day. 
Honestly, I would be more worried about the not babbling. It could be the sign of a hearing problem, which definitely leads to future language and speech impairments. I would mention it to her doctor and see if you could get her hearing tested. At 9 months they should be making some kind of babbling noises. It’s nothing to be super worried about yet, but getting testing done earlier is always better! 
Just curious, are you a single parent or are you alone with the baby a lot? One child i worked with went to speech therapy as a toddler and their mom was a single mom. Her speech therapist recommended having talk radio or the news on tv a lot so the child would hear adult conversation throughout the day. If you don’t have a partner you have a lot of adult conversations with around your baby it can delay speech as well. It’s very important for infants and toddlers to hear advanced language to help their language development.

I wouldn’t compare because my son crawled at 5 1/2 months and walked at 8 months but my cousin daughter still crawling at 10 months  she just learned to crawl at 9 months and she only say dada and looks to have no sign of walking. Nothing is wrong she just developed at a different pace but she’s eventually hits her milestone
