Am I killing my succulents?

They were a gift from my MIL but I've literally never taken care if plants successfully. I accidently overwatered my cactus and killed it 😂. So now I'm worried I'm hurting the succulents. She told me to just spritz them with water once a week. I've been doing that but am I doing too much? They didn't look like this at first.

That container is far too shallow, there is not enough soil for the plant to root to. Also, make sure there are multiple holes in the bottom of the container (you should really transplant them in a deeper container) there MUST have holes in whichever pot/container you decided to use. All plants, especially succulents require adequate drainage. With out good drainage the roots will stay wet and just rot, killing the plant. Good luck!

I’ve been able to keep succulents alive for more than 6 months.
I spritz them with water once a month, tops! Maybe even every 6-8 weeks.
Once a week is too much water!
Keep them near the sun, keep them warm and give them very little water!
