She finds comfort in my now ex bf

I broke up with my baby’s father because I couldn’t stand the fact that he had a specific female friend that found comfort in him.. she was having issues with her ex and for some reason she found comfort in my bf and would always talk to him about her problems or just to distract herself. He of course defended her so I left the relationship.. was this wrong?

Yeah I was having issues with my ex and as far as me and O.. well we were close but as friends like I did trust him and all and so did he so idk I was going through a lot and when me and him started taking we just got really comfortable with each other and just had that trust and we just talked about things. We never really talked about us being in a relationship it was really more like a close friendship thing idk how to explain it.
