Temperature, when to worry?

My daughter will be six months old January 29th, she’s been a little fussy lately and I figure she’s just teething. Tonight she felt a little warm so i took her rectal temperature and it was 100.2. I gave her some Tylenol and then nursed her to sleep. My mother in law who had three kids said to just give Tylenol and she should be fine, that it’s just a low grade fever. Is there anything else I should be doing? At what point do you call the pediatrician? Thanks in advance!

My doc said anything over 103 is when to worry! My babies had fevers too & I always call the docs worried but they always told me to give Motrin & if the fever consisted for more than 24hrs to come in.

When they are teething the have a low grade fever sometimes. So giving her some tylonal will help with the pain and fever.

I wouldn’t call the pediatrician until you got to 102 AND the temp wouldn’t come down with meds or a lukewarm bath.
At 6 months you can piggy back Motrin with Tylenol. Every 4 hrs. Ex: if you give Tylenol at 5pm, you can give Motrin at 9 pm, and then Tylenol again at 1 am... back and forth. That’s only if the fever keeps spiking. 
You can also give your daughter a Luke warm bath or place a moist rag in her forehead to help cool her and make her feel more comfortable.
