When to stop working

Hello,
I am 38 weeks and 2 days and not dilated or showing signs of labor yet which makes me think I will be on time or late.  I live on Long Island and take a train and a subway to work - about an hour and a half commute each way. I had all intentions of next week being my last week of work but the forecast is 90-93 all week.  Do you think it would look bad if I requested to work from home next week? Or should I push myself? Just need some opinions from other pregnant ladies. Thanks!!

I think it's perfectly fine to say "I want to continue working next week, but I commute an hour and a half by train each way. I'm concerned about going into labor during my commute. Can I continue working from home next week?"

I told my job that I wanted to work up until birth, but only if they allowed me to work from home because the commute had gotten to be too much. They agreed because I'm the only one in my department that does my job and they hadn't yet found anyone to take over while I'm on leave. It won't hurt to ask.

Shoot, I was off at 36 weeks. In California, you can legally get off 4 weeks before your due date. But it depends on your job, and your financial situation.
